Nothe Fort

Nothe Fort is located on the promontory of land that separates Portland and Weymouth Harbours. It was built between 1860 and 1875, and was originally armed with four 9" Rifled Muzzle Loading Guns and six 10" Rifled Muzzle Loading Guns. These were later replaced by ten 12.5" 38 ton Rifled Muzzle Loading Guns.
