Since arriving at Fort Chunderbad I have made a detailed examination of the tactical situation in the area. I have to report that since the withdrawal of the Royal Artillery Field Battery previously stationed at the fort, it will be almost impossible to defend the fort from an attack by the Bathanis if such an attack is supported by artillery.

In the event of such an attack I will have not alternative but to inflict as many casualties upon the attackers as possible before withdrawing the fort's garrison to a safer place.
